A Familiar Fear in a Different Context

This morning I caught myself wondering:

If I keep writing consistently… will I eventually run out of things to say?

It surprised me how familiar that question felt.

Because years ago, I asked a version of it in a completely different part of my life—early in my relationship with my partner, wondering what we would possibly talk about for a lifetime.

This spring, we celebrate 32 years. And the conversations never ran out.

Writing, I’m realizing, might be similar.

When something is rooted in curiosity, connection, and a willingness to keep showing up, it doesn’t deplete. It deepens.

I shared a short reflection on this today—on voice, relationship, and the quiet unfolding that happens over time.

If you’ve ever wondered whether you’ll “run out” of something that matters to you, this might resonate.

I acknowledge that my work takes place on the traditional, unceded, and ancestral territories of the Stó:lō people — including the q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), qw̓ɑ:nƛ̓ə̓n̓ (Kwantlen), Mathxwí (Matsqui), Semá:th (Sumas), Leq’á:mel, and Semiahmoo First Nations — and I am grateful to live and work on these lands.
